From livestreamed projects over lockdowns, to networked performances happening in multiple cities at the same time. ### Delusional World, Asia TOPA & ACMI, 2020 In 2020, the Exhibitionist team collaborated with Lu Yang to curate, develop and digitally facilitate the presentation of a new livestream work - Lu Yang: Delusional World. Initially intended as a live performance, adaptations had to be made due to COVID-19. The Ex team transformed the work into a live stream performance, which included artistic landing pages, private chats and artists Q&A's. Taking place during the height of Victoria’s lockdown, the work was one of the first of its kind, an immediate reaction to the new digital landscape and a groundbreaking work for Lu Yang, resulting in an immersive digital environment which drew over 700 online viewers. ### DOKU, Live Alone Die Alone, Asia TOPA & ACMI, 2021 Our collaboration with Lu Yang was extended further through the virtual lab initiative for DOKU, presenting another version of the work with Asia TOPA and ACMI in 2021. The live performance features contemporary dancers Harrison Hall and Manny Dado, fitted with motion capture technology who controls the 3D incarnations of DOKU via a motion capture suit. ### DOKU, The Binary World, Sydney Opera House, 2022 In 2022, Exhibitionist co-produced and developed a networked live motion capture performance with Lu Yang. The Binary World is a networked performance between Hong Kong's Freespace, West Kowloon Cultural District and the Sydney Opera House. We created a shared virtual environment for dancers to interact between Sydney and Hong Kong, creating an innovative artistic collaboration through motion-capture suits, embodying the DOKU avatars of heaven and hell; human and animal; yin and yang. ### Artistic Team Lead Artist - Lu Yang Direction / Production - Exhibitionist Choreography - Harrison Hall Dancers - Harrison Hall, Imanuel Dado, Taiga Kita-Leong, Qin Ran, Kenny Leung Motion Capture Performance Program - Meta Object Live game environment control - Sam Mcgilp Music - Cloudy Ku, Gameface Partners - Sydney Opera House, West Kowloon Cultural Centre, ACMI, Asia TOPA --- ## Stanislava Pinchuk Axionome Axionome by Ukrainian artist Stanislava Pinchuk is a data-driven light installation transforming building facades in Melbourne and Ghent into visual representations of our shifting climate. The permanent Melbourne installation on 150 Lonsdale Street's East Facade uses Bureau of Meteorology data to honor the building's history as the former BoM headquarters. Live weather feeds blend with decades of historical data, creating dynamic patterns that shift from day to night—making climate change visible in the city's CBD. Commissioned by Charter Hall as part of Wesley Place's community art initiative, the work has become a landmark meditation on Australia's changing temperatures. In February 2025, we adapted Axionome for Zebrastraat Museum in Ghent, recalibrating the algorithms for Ghent's climate. Using Open Weather API data, this iteration translates Belgian meteorological data into a responsive scale animation with live temperature and CO2 data updating every 30mins. Initially commissioned for three months, the museum extended the installation to twelve months following strong visitor engagement. Exhibitionist and designer Melanie Huang developed the data mapping systems for both installations, creating site-specific algorithms in consultation with local meteorologists. This iterative project continues evolving—we're exploring new cities where Axionome can be installed to represent climate changing effects in localised situations. --- ## Bob Brown / Mona Forest Economics Congress In November 2023, Exhibitionist embarked on a unique project in collaboration with the Bob Brown Foundation for MONA's Forest Congress. Tasked with bringing a critical environmental message to life, the team used photogrammetry to develop a 3D model of Bob Brown and integrated it into a surreal Unreal Engine sequence. Bob Brown himself narrated this presentation, shedding light on the pressing issues surrounding native forest logging in Tasmania, and the consequent threat to the habitats of the swift parrot and masked owl. ### Artistic team Concept and Narration - Bob Brown Creative Direction - Willoh Weiland Film Direction and Development - Exhibitionist Unreal engine and Modeling - Timothy Teng Consultation - Bob Brown Foundation --- ## Patricia Piccinini A Miracle Constantly Repeated We collaborated with acclaimed artist Patricia Piccinini in the creation of an immersive audioguide platform for her exhibition "A Miracle Constantly Repeated" that ran from June, 2021 to June 2022. The exhibition opened as part of Rising Festival, 2021. Combining sculpture, video, light and sound, Picinnini brought the Ballroom at Flinders Street Station back to life, blurring the lines between technology and nature. Our audio/visual guide offered an exploration of the exhibit. Narrating the stories behind each exhibit and drawing from our direct collaboration with the artist, the guide provided unique insights into her empathetic vision of the future—one founded on resilience and care. ### Artistic Team Concept and Narration - Patricia Piccinini Design and Development - Exhibitionist ### --- ## Mona Foma Faux Mo Over 2021 and 2022, Exhibitionist helped to deliver the digital and 3D elements for Mona Foma's official afterparty Faux Mo. You are hired as an intern for Phoebe Bridgers' new record label, Saddest Factory. Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life. ### Desktop Art That was the brief—turn a record label website into an intern's worst/best day at work. Exhibitionist designed and developed Saddest Factory as both a functional website and a piece of browser art, creating an interactive desktop complete with folders like [Corporate Retreat Activations], [Morning Briefings], [Not Porn] and [Action Items]. The site features regular pop-up interruptions from Phoebe demanding numbers, coffee, dealing with wrong number dials, plus NSFW messages and hidden easter eggs scattered throughout. Every click reveals another layer of workplace absurdity. ### Consultation Developed in consultation with Phoebe, her label team, and actual interns who knew the vibe firsthand. We built a fully functional record label site that also happens to be an immersive comedy experience about the music industry's beautiful dysfunction. Released in 2021 to glowing reviews, with one Twitter user declaring: "@phoebe_bridgers whoever designed this website deserves the world." --- ## Party Safe Get to know your mind, body, substance, and limits Exhibitionist developed Party Safe for the NSW government, Australian Festivals Association and Dancewize NSW—an interactive education platform targeting young festival-goers with harm reduction messaging. ### Interactive Quiz We built a true/false quiz that tackles drug and social risks head-on, wrapping serious content in engaging animated media. Each question includes fact sheets, risk information, and direct links to support services and government resources. The incentive model was simple—complete the quiz, get your certificate, unlock discounted festival tickets. By connecting education to ticket access, the platform reached audiences who might otherwise skip safety resources, delivering critical harm reduction information when it mattered most. --- ## Xagxaguvar A quarter century of Jagjaguwar Exhibitionist was formed through a connection to music and DIY labels. Through this long standing history and networks within the Australian and International music scene - we were asked to develop a stand alone site for Jagjaguwar 25 year anniversary. The site captures the zine aesthetic in digital form, taking scraps, overlays, xerox prints and handwritten forms into a patchwork form of old posters, releases, flyers and memorabilia of the label over its quarter century history. --- ## Hypertickets Digital tickets + Delivery for Tessitura Hypertickets are a modern way to distribute your museum and festival tickets. We have created a digital ticketing system that is built on Tessitura. The system is designed to maximise user experience by utilising a streamlined email authentication process, which allows users to access multiple QR code tickets in one place without the need to scroll through emails or PDFs. Working with your ticketing, front-of-house, and digital teams we can determine the best way to distribute and integrate Hypertickets into your brand and digital experience. Hypertickets have been used as the default ticket distribution for Museum of Old and New Art, RISING, Dark Mofo and Mona Foma. ### Features - Seamlessly integrates with existing PDF tickets - Reprinted tickets are automatically updated - no need to send out another PDF - Resale options allow customers to resale/refund their tickets directly back to the Tessitura allocation - Fully customised design - Barcodes only available on the day of performance, which helps with scalping or other security issues - Tickets can be locked behind a user account login, or sent through an encrypted URL (much like airline tickets) - Can be easily integrated with any ticketing purchase pathway or Tessitura environment ### Case Studies - Dark Mofo (2022—current) - Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) (2021—current) - RISING (2021—current) - Mona Foma (2022—current) --- ## Machine Listening Platform for research and experimentation Machine Listening is a collaborative project led by artist-researchers Sean Dockray, James Parker, and Joel Stern. It is a platform for collaborative research and artistic experimentation, focused on the political and aesthetic dimensions of the computation of sound and speech. For this site Exhibitionist was asked to develop something simple and easy to use, that integrated with artists documentation on Notion. To do this, we built an web-presenting interface that connected to the Machine Listening notion - which then allowed them to use Notion as the CMS. This gave the artists the ability to run the project in a similar way to how they had before. To support the conceptual underpinning of the Machine Listening project we didn't use any large tech web infrastructure to build this site (unless you count Notion as a Tech Giant).
